Welcome
Here is the Newcomer protocol which is being uses in Atlanta, Georgia. It is four, one hour sessions over a four week period. At the end, the newcomer who has attended all four sessions receives completion certificate. We encourage all newcomers to get a temporary sponsor, right away.
Session One
- Open with the serenity prayer, page 95.
- Go around and introduce ourselves with each person giving a two minute summary about themselves.
- Read from the White Book pages: 29 to 44.
- Calling on each person to read a page.
- Acknowledge questions during the meeting.
- Close with the Lord’s Prayer.
Session Two
- Open with the serenity prayer.
- Go around and introduce ourselves.
- Read from the White book, pages 79 to 88.
- Calling on each person to read a page.
- Acknowledge questions during the meeting.
- Close with the Lord’s Prayer.
Session Three
- Open with the serenity prayer.
- Go around and introduce ourselves.
- Read from White Book, pages: 89 to 104.
- Calling on each person to read a page.
- Acknowledge questions during the meeting.
- Close with reading the Third step prayer on page 95 of the White Book.
Session Four
- Open with the serenity prayer.
- Go around and introduce ourselves.
- Read from White Book pages: 105 to 110.
- Call on each person to read a page.
- Write out a resentment inventory which, then, each person discusses.
- Give an attendance certificate to each attendee who has participated all four sessions.
- Close with reading the Third step prayer.
